Search Technologies

Rohit has patents with innovations in Search Technologies:

  1.  Highlight Rank (U.S. Patent # 8,661,031): Page Rank transferred the relevance w.r.t. significance of a page from the author of the page to readers of the page. In a significant improvement on that, the significance is determined at a smaller level of granularity, and highlights made by users are utilised to determine matching results for search queries.
  2. Curation Rank (U.S. Patent # 10,909,197): Highlight Rank is further extended to utilise the portions of content that a reader is interested in.
  3.  In-situ Search (U.S. Patent # 11,301,532): e.g. when a user selects a word on a page and a search is automatically performed to identify other occurrences of the word on the same page, and are automatically highlighted for the user’s convenience.

For the patents mentioned above the actual inventions are only determined by the claims. This is merely an attempt to significantly oversimplify the said patents. Most of the patents have claims that cover multiple functional areas, This, here – is an attempt to present some patents to the casual reader under a single category.
